25 Photos from the G20 Summit Protest in Toronto (Warning: Graphic Images)

few things before i get into this. the following photos are definitely NOT an accurate depiction of the majority of G20 Summit Protesters.. politicians, mothers, students, etc all gathered today to rally for their respective causes - mostly in peace. a smaller group of cowards using the Black Bloc tactic (mob movement, dressed in black, faces hidden) to create anarchy & destroy public property did most of the damage. and unfortunately, these Black Bloc idiots have taken away from the legitimate complaints being issued by the rest of the protesters..

are they rogue locals acting individually coz they have an excuse to commit vandalism? are they hired help to deflect attention from real issues & justify the RIDICULOUS government spending on the G20 Summit? who knows. there've been conflicting reports about the use of tear gas by the ISU.. there are multiple live reports from people on scene who commented that the 2nd police car exploded into flames quite a bit after cops had already moved in to secure the area.. basically, we can talk about it all we want but the truth is, nobody outside of the highest authorities responsible for either end (cops vs protesters) will ever know. gotta say the cops have done an amazing job so far to NOT escalate the situation.

below is a collection of images from today's protest - taken from various contributors.. i haven't credited the posters because, frankly, these images have been posted and re-posted so many times by now that i have no way of telling who the original authors are.

PS. i was out earlier today to do a quick photoshoot/interview for my homies, the Far East Movement from LA, who were in town.. and driving back to my condo from Queen St was INSANITY. at one point, we were headed east on College at Bay, with an entire BLOCK of cops on one side of the street (some wielding assault rifles) and an entire BLOCK of protesters/gatherers on the other side of the street - yea, i was hoping nobody would start anything right then and there with our car in between.

as such, i chose to listen to my friends who begged me to stay in instead of going back out w/ my cameras to cover the travesty personally.. probably a good idea - thank god i have sane friends.

make a statement. but don't cover your face like a coward.

exactly what does smashing a small family-run store do for your protest?!

yes, that's real human feces thrown into a storefront. unreal.

cowards disguised as protesters.

a wee bit dramatic aren't we?

and finally, after all that carnage - a few images to lighten the mood a bit:
