25 Photos from the G20 Summit Protest in Toronto (Warning: Graphic Images)

few things before i get into this. the following photos are definitely NOT an accurate depiction of the majority of G20 Summit Protesters.. politicians, mothers, students, etc all gathered today to rally for their respective causes - mostly in peace. a smaller group of cowards using the Black Bloc tactic (mob movement, dressed in black, faces hidden) to create anarchy & destroy public property did most of the damage. and unfortunately, these Black Bloc idiots have taken away from the legitimate complaints being issued by the rest of the protesters..

are they rogue locals acting individually coz they have an excuse to commit vandalism? are they hired help to deflect attention from real issues & justify the RIDICULOUS government spending on the G20 Summit? who knows. there've been conflicting reports about the use of tear gas by the ISU.. there are multiple live reports from people on scene who commented that the 2nd police car exploded into flames quite a bit after cops had already moved in to secure the area.. basically, we can talk about it all we want but the truth is, nobody outside of the highest authorities responsible for either end (cops vs protesters) will ever know. gotta say the cops have done an amazing job so far to NOT escalate the situation.

below is a collection of images from today's protest - taken from various contributors.. i haven't credited the posters because, frankly, these images have been posted and re-posted so many times by now that i have no way of telling who the original authors are.

PS. i was out earlier today to do a quick photoshoot/interview for my homies, the Far East Movement from LA, who were in town.. and driving back to my condo from Queen St was INSANITY. at one point, we were headed east on College at Bay, with an entire BLOCK of cops on one side of the street (some wielding assault rifles) and an entire BLOCK of protesters/gatherers on the other side of the street - yea, i was hoping nobody would start anything right then and there with our car in between.

as such, i chose to listen to my friends who begged me to stay in instead of going back out w/ my cameras to cover the travesty personally.. probably a good idea - thank god i have sane friends.

make a statement. but don't cover your face like a coward.

exactly what does smashing a small family-run store do for your protest?!

yes, that's real human feces thrown into a storefront. unreal.

cowards disguised as protesters.

a wee bit dramatic aren't we?

and finally, after all that carnage - a few images to lighten the mood a bit:

Meet Apple's iPhone 4 // 06.08.10 Update

Within hours of officially releasing details/specs/promos for their iPhone 4, Apple has already created a sensational buzz about their new product.. We know about Apple's talent with revolutionary product engineering, and we know about Steve Jobs' transcendent genius with practical innovation, so maybe this shouldn't surprise us.. except, it really does.

Developed with "Facetime" or video calling in mind, iPhone4 will boast two cameras - 1 for video calling & a 5MP still camera that also records HD Video. Apple's already industry-leading display is also significantly upgraded, with 4x the pixel count and a higher contrast ratio on a 960x640 display - making the iPhone4 display effectively the "sharpest" phone screen ever.

Throw in a faster new processor, improved ergonomics & engineering (ultra-durable commercial-grade glass + stainless steel binding) & (useless) improvements to the iPhone's already impressive general user interface & gaming capabilities.. Then keep in mind that the 16gig version of the iPhone4 is entering the market at a $199 (or around there) price-point, and you'll know why I'm so impressed..

I'm a Blackberry guy, and probably will always be one. Having access to browser-free integrated email has changed my life & increased my productivity in a way I never thought possible.. and I don't use my phone for any "useless" things like web browsing, listening to music, watching video, etc.

But for the average consumer? (aka every 16-80 yr old who just wants the most out of their phones & isn't hellbent on uber-productivity & world domination?) The iPhone4 looks like an absolutely amazing product.. Don't be too surprised if it changes the face of the mobile web/phone market forever..

A lot of companies & their CEOs talk about changing the world with their products.. Apple & Steve Jobs now have quite the history of actually accomplishing exactly that.
